Methodology in social work
The book presents the entire research process in social work, addressing its purpose and specifics compared to other fields. It focuses on establishing the research problem, objectives and research questions, and goes on to describe the specifics of research procedures, primarily using practical examples from numerous completed research projects and defended student theses in social work, which the authors supervised or acted as opponents for.
At the same time, it mentions the most common errors in definition and formulation. A separate chapter is devoted to the formulation of hypotheses. Considerable space is also dedicated to research strategy, individual methods, data collection techniques and their subsequent processing, utilisation and possible distortion of results.
The publication will be particularly beneficial for students and academics in the field of social work, but it will certainly also be useful for social workers who work with research as part of their profession, as well as others interested in the subject. This is all the more true because a more comprehensive text of this type has not yet been produced in the Czech context.
