Mirek & spol.
When the parents don't have any sense, it's up to Bořík's crew to take over. And get the criminals!
A gloom is looming over a group of four troublemakers who mean well at the beginning of every mischief. The house in Prague's Holešovice, where the narrator Bořík lives, is to be demolished for the construction of the metro and he and his parents will move to a block of flats somewhere in Lhotka. Aren't they going to be complete when they commit the stunts? Just don't! Čenda and Aleš advise them to arrange an apartment exchange, which is a long shot, unless... yes, romantic Mirek has an idea! How about burying treasure in the basement and sending in the archaeologists? But the arrangement with the recidivists from Mr Jezer's pub smells of a sharper flavour than the punch at the Pink Confectionery. It's more like a capital trouble, in which the boys will be at each other's throats as well as the snakes from paradise, because Bořík's home is stuffy. Mum is having affairs with a widowed engineer and puberty is setting in. How do we get out of this mêlée? Wouldn't a certain kindly retired detective, or more accurately, him and his grumpy twin brother, know?
The third part of the most famous pranks since Karel Poláček unleashes hell in chains. Not only digital smugglers, but also robbers of home comfort will have fun in it.

They wrote about the book:
The collection of short stories has coalesced into a novel, but the grin is growing: looking at how adult villainy makes boyishness even more colourful.

Books like this help to show, there doesn't have to be a girl in the boy band, and it doesn't mean that the author had no respect for women, that when a woman takes care of the family and the household, is not uninteresting and inferior, but on the other hand, it's fabulous...

Vojtěch Steklač
(1945-2021) Prose writer, editor, comic book librettist and screenwriter grew up in Holešovice, Prague. After graduating from the Faculty of Arts, he worked in children's magazines: from 1969 in Ohníček and from 1971 headed the monthly Pionýr. In the 1980s he devoted himself exclusively to literary work and in the post-Soviet period he also worked as a television dramaturge. At first he tried to make a name for himself with detective stories and psychological novels (How to Murder the Golden Nightingale, Solitude of Blažejov, Black Sun), but he only broke through as a humorist. He embodied his sense of the absurd in the cycle of Bořík's Laphalies - as the stories printed in Ohníček from 1970 onwards were originally called, following the example of René Goscinny's Mikuláš's Pathalies - and gradually filled five volumes named after members of the Holešovice party (1980-1989). Bořík's, Bohoušek's, Aleš's, Mirek's and Čenda's stories were published under different titles in many selections and series, e.g. 2003. The author's other works for youth include the parody Žlutý Robert (1968), The Adventures of Secret Agent Pankrác Tangenta (comics 1971, book 1985), Béďa Dynamit & spol. (1977), The Infernal Class (1978) or the Napoleonic portrait The Secret of the Scarab (1983). Screenwriting, among others. he participated in the films Kačenka a strašidla and the series Nováci.
