Oneiros

EIGHT, NINE, TEN, THEN – NEVER GO TO SLEEP AGAIN.

In his novel Oneiros, the German bestselling author Markus Heitz confirms that he is not only the supreme ruler of the dwarf realm, but also a top-tier creator of dark thrillers. An excellent central idea, a nerve-wracking plot, a gloomy atmosphere and a trio of unconventional characters make this book an absolute must-have for all lovers of darkness.

It's hard not to close your eyes when a deadly curse is stalking about! It all started with a fatal plane crash, where the number of victims exceeded the number of passengers. And be warned – this number is far from final… Was it a perfectly planned terrorist attack, or is there more to it? The tragic event connects the fates of an undertaker, a fanatical scientist, and a man on the run. They are all trying to outwit the Grim Reaper, but each in their own way and for different reasons. But why do piles of dead bodies keep mounting up around them?

Konstantin, the owner of a renowned funeral home, is considered the best in his field. He knows death like no other – he goes to bed with it day in, day out, and his profession is far from the only reason. When he accepts a job in Paris involving a young model who was on the crashed plane, he has no idea what he is getting himself into. A routine trip turns into a desperate chase, during which all of Europe could fall asleep – forever. While Konstantin strictly adheres to professional ethics, a death-obsessed scientist from Minsk is willing to sacrifice a great deal in her cruel and secret experiments, especially the lives of others, just to achieve her goal: to cheat death. And meanwhile, a ticking time bomb in the form of a man on the run is travelling across Europe. It’s hard to surrender to a peaceful sleep, because a single moment of inattention is all it takes to awaken the deadly curse…
