People lie

A fascinating look at human evil

An American psychiatrist presents an original view of the age-old problem of human evil. Lack of inner integrity and insecurity make us cheat others, live a lie and deceive ourselves and others.

Do we make a covenant with the devil to protect us from ourselves? asks an American psychiatrist. And it asks where the very essence of human evil lies. Using examples from his psychiatric practice, he demonstrates the accompanying phenomena of evil in everyday life. It's about a boy, who can't cope with his older brother's suicide, about a successful middle-aged man, ...who gets disturbing, persistent thoughts.., about a teenage boy, who is stifled by a hypocritically orderly family environment. Lack of inner integrity, prejudice and insecurity make these people cheat others, live a lie and deceive themselves. They sacrifice others to protect the image of their own perfection.
