PowerPoint 2003

PowerPoint is designed primarily for creating presentations - documents that can present a large amount of information about a company or product on several consecutive slides, and can be a source of entertainment or even education. They can be used by a dealer offering goods, a lecturer during a lecture, a company representative during promotion at exhibitions or trade fairs. Individual presentations consist of a graphic and a text component, which together form a single unit, a slide. These frames are linked to each other by transitions; the presentation does not have to be chronological, but you can use the links to choose virtually any order. Individual objects (images, text fields, etc. ) may not appear all at once, but may appear sequentially. After studying this guide, you should be able to put together a simple presentation with virtually any topic. This book is therefore intended for anyone who wants to learn the basics of Microsoft PowerPoint and use it to create simple presentations. The reader is expected to have a basic knowledge of working with a computer and the Windows operating system. It takes some skill with the mouse, especially when formatting graphical objects, but this can only be achieved with long practice, so don't be afraid of PowerPoint. In case some of the readers use the English version of the program, some of the most commonly used commands are given in English. For reasons of economy, however, English terms are usually mentioned only at the first occurrence of the term. For the setting elements in the dialogs, use the comparison with the illustration of the Czech windows in this book if necessary. The text of the book is divided into five chapters. The first chapter, Getting Started with PowerPoint, introduces the reader to the program's controls and capabilities. These are basic skills - running the program, program control using toolbars, menus and keyboard shortcuts, description of the environment, ways of displaying the presentation, explanation of basic concepts, operations with documents and files. The next chapter, Slide Operations, focuses on the presentation as a whole. Readers will learn how to insert new slides into a presentation and determine their layout, how to copy and move slides, and how to hide or delete them. Information about the overall presentation format (design templates, colour schemes) will also be important. In the following chapter, How to work with objects, you will learn how to place various graphic objects on the image, especially the so-called. automatic shapes, clipart, images and WordArts. With a large number of objects in the image, it will be very important to manage their exact placement, adjust their size, and their relative order. You will learn, how to rotate objects, roll over, move, Copy, grouping, it is also important to determine the format of the object, i.e. the colour and style of the line and fill. The fourth chapter, Text Fields, is entirely devoted to working with text that is inserted on the image surface in the so-called. text fields. You will learn how to insert text, how to transfer text from other types of documents, and how to format the appearance of fonts and paragraphs. The final chapter, Presenting a Presentation, is devoted to the final editing of the presentation and, in particular, how to present it. The reader will learn how to set up the transition between frames, determine the order in which objects are displayed, and how to animate. The book ends with a description of the so-called. hyperlinks, i.e. places on the screen that can be used to go to another place in the presentation or open another document with a single click.
