Practical procedures in anaesthesia
The third, revised edition has seen major changes to the content and scope of individual chapters. In a total of four thematic units (General Anesthesia Procedures, Special Anesthesia Procedures, Obstetric Anesthesia and Analgesia, Most Common Anesthesia Complications), the authors briefly elaborate on specific perioperative procedures in individual chapters. The reader will also find a new personal " know-how" (tips and tricks) and an explanation of the most basic principles of the given procedures. The original team of anesthesiologists from the General University Hospital in Prague was expanded to include fellow anesthesiologists from the Motol University Hospital and the Central Military Hospital, so that together they could cover the entire spectrum of procedures and situations that can be encountered in anesthesiology practice.
In addition to the anesthesiologists already mentioned, a basic overview of anesthesia procedures can also help doctors in surgical specialties (general and abdominal surgery, traumatology, orthopedics, cardiac surgery and vascular surgery, gynaecology and obstetrics, urology, eye, dental surgery and neurosurgery) or doctors performing preoperative examinations, especially to internists, or general practitioners.
The didactic and practical form of the publication offers a total of 78 professional procedures and an appendix with medication dilutions.
The book was reviewed by doc. MUDr. David Astapenko, Ph. D., MBA and Assoc. MUDr. Jiri Malek, CSc.
