Shortly after the imperial court astronomer Tycho Brahe attended a banquet hosted by Petr Vok of Rožmberk at his Hradčany palace, he had to lie down with a fever and severe pain. The efforts of the doctors, summoned to him by Emperor Rudolf II himself, are in vain and Tycho Brahe dies after eleven days of suffering. The investigation is being conducted by Lukáš Trobl from Květnice. However, witnesses do not want to comment too much on the incident, and one could even say that they are rather complicating the investigation. During his search, Lukáš meets the mysterious niece of a dead astronomer who is interested in alchemy, and his former lover Tereza, a barmaid at the U Krále Brabantského pub, also offers him help.
