Rulers of the swamp

Baron Sirgodon always had trouble with his twins, a girl and a boy, until he finally decided to train them both together as men. Perhaps he did the right thing, for the land is shaken by tales of betrayal and dark magic. In addition to humans, the beings who rule the vast swamp struggle for power, trying to gain a strength that will overcome even damnation. Can the twins stand together in the midst of the fighting? How many sacrifices, struggles and losses will they face? After all, a woman must not meddle in men's affairs... Anna Šochová (1959) has built a reputation as a quality short story writer over the past few years. She first applied her talent in the genre of classic fantasy, from which we should mention the Karel Čapek Award-winning trio of novels Záskok (2003), Výměna (2004) and Zeóla (2006). However, the author achieved her greatest popularity with horror stories, often set in the attractive environment of the Czech-German border region (Panenka, 2003; The Old Cemetery, 2003 i. ). She made her debut in the Pevnost science fantasy edition with the novel Ochránce rodu (2008).
