As he delves deeper into the painful family history, a tragedy unfolds before him, stretching back to the bloodiest battle of the First World War. His almost detective-like investigation leads Edvard to France, to the battlefield by the River Somme, where a cluster of sixteen walnut trees still stands after the bloodiest battle of the First World War.
