The Caisová Case: Crime from the Moon

At a time when lunar cities are flourishing and thriving, and Earth is making repeated attempts to bring the independent Moon back under its rule, an inexperienced but ambitious police officer enters the scene to investigate the death of one of the first colonists. The young second lieutenant's investigation gradually uncovers a vast conspiracy with roots in his immediate surroundings.
Someone is testing a dangerous compound on innocent victims, and despite all his efforts, the investigator initially cannot figure out why. A chance event helps him to unravel the mysterious web and discover that the substance alters the physiognomy of those affected. These side effects are both a curse and a powerful lure for the mighty of this world. Is there a more effective enticement than a human being who can be used as a weapon?!
As fate would have it, the officer's partner is also doped with the drug, and so begins a chase across the solar system to save her... and, for that matter, to save humanity and its sanity.
