The Cursed Diary
A story that should never have been written
When horror author Thad McAlister began writing his latest book based on the Massachusetts witch trials, the words flowed on their own. The story rolled forward, filling page after page with the deeds of the most terrifying character his imagination had ever created. It was his greatest work, one that would secure his place among the legends of the genre. But was it really fiction?
He had unintentionally opened a door to a world that would soon threaten the lives of his loved ones.
She wants to come back.
At home, his wife fights to keep their family alive. But deep down, she wonders if she caused all of this herself... with a deal she made a long time ago.
J. D. Barker
Jonathan Dylan Barker is an American author who specialises in thrillers with elements of the supernatural and humour. He debuted in 2014 with the self-published horror novel Forsaken, for which he was immediately nominated for a Bram Stoker Award. He began his career as a journalist managing the culture section and writing a column about investigating mysteries and haunted places, which had apparently always been his hobby. While still at school, he came to the attention of Paul Gallotta, owner of the rock-oriented magazine Circus, who offered him a job at the lifestyle magazine 25th Parallel. There, J. D. met, among others, the man later known as Marilyn Manson. For a time, he worked as a ghostwriter, an author hidden behind a more famous name, helping them to get published.
