Adele has been feeling an urge she can't describe for some time. Insistent fluttering in the abdomen, all-pervading restlessness… Doesn't everybody feel it? That urgent need to act, to bring about change? Isn't he praying for something to happen? Something that will fundamentally change their lives?

Posing for Egon, Wally goes into a hypnotic trance. She can feel eyes, ghostly eyes, scanning her body. And the intensity of those glances and the conviction that they belonged to her, that they could own her, made her look all the more piercingly into Egon's eyes. He returns it with a look full of understanding and equality, while his brush captures not only everything in front of him, but also everything in between.
