In this set of studies, published both in professional journals and books, the experienced facial traumatologist Jiří Ramba presents the results of the examination of the remains of several personalities of Czech history: Přemysl Otakar II., Elizabeth of Pomerania, Ladislav Pohrobek, George of Poděbrady, Rudolf II., Eleonora Habsburg and Karel Hynek Mácha. The core of the book is a treatise on the mysterious temporary paralysis of Charles IV. at the turn of 1350 and 1351. The author, drawing on his extensive experience, presents here an interesting theory of the accident and describes how it could have occurred and how the treatment and rehabilitation probably proceeded.
