Who wouldn't want to cope with the demands of life and successfully overcome difficult and crisis situations without major problems. This can certainly be achieved in various ways, using a multitude of more or less sophisticated and complex instructions and „ abbreviations“. It is possible to do this by learning specific procedures that are appropriate for certain situations, or to delve deeper into the nature of stress phenomena and understand the essential context, which will allow creative derivation of appropriate procedures for a given situation. The issue of coping with various life demands and adverse influences is a central theme in contemporary psychology. One of the basic conditions of human development and survival is effective adaptation to constantly changing conditions, acting in the interaction of the human individual with the environment. This is true both for individual development from conception to death (ontogeny) and for the development of man as a species (phylogeny). Mental resilience is related to a number of phenomena and circumstances.
This book therefore examines the factors of coping with stress from a psychological perspective based on theoretical analysis and empirical research. It focuses both on the more general context of the human adaptation process in coping with the demands of everyday life and on practical ways in which individuals can develop their resilience to stress.
