The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

A star reveals its secrets

Evelyn Hugo, an aging Hollywood star who has lived in seclusion for years, finally decides to tell the world the whole truth about her extraordinary life of scandal and reveal the behind-the-scenes of her seven secret marriages. She chooses the inexperienced journalist Monique Grant as the author of her biography, surprising not only her superiors at the magazine, but also Monique herself. Why her? Why now? It's not a happy time for the journalist. Her husband has left her and her career is stagnating. She doesn't know why Evelyn really chose her, but she is determined to take the opportunity to get her career on track. When she arrives at the actress's luxurious Manhattan apartment, Evelyn begins to tell her the story of her life. From her beginnings in Los Angeles in the 1950s, through the intricacies of her seven marriages, to her decision to leave show business in the 1980s. Evelyn's narrative reveals her ruthless ambition, unexpected friendships and the great forbidden love of her life. Monique is gradually forming a real bond with the Hollywood legend. But as Evelyn's story draws to a close, it becomes clear that their fates and paths are unexpectedly but tragically intersecting.
