Betrayal and heroism do not keep a schedule.
In the late 1930s, Adolf Klein, a German official at the Brno railway post office, finds himself in a situation where external circumstances are destroying everything he holds dear. As the husband of a Czech woman and father to three adult children, he watches as his sons succumb to Nazi ideology, while his daughter Emilie joins the Czech resistance. Although Klein can distinguish between good and evil, circumstances force him to serve both sides. Can he find enough courage to maintain his integrity and save those he cares about most?
