Traitor
The final installment of the gritty and fierce Covenant of Steel trilogy from the master of epic fantasy, Anthony Ryan
Alwyn the Scribe faces a decisive battle and a difficult choice between loyalty and conscience. Alwyn has come a long way. Born a lion child in a brothel and never knowing his own father, he grew up in the woods among brigands and is now a knight and the closest advisor to Lady Evadine Courlain. Together they have fought countless battles and helped restore order to a shattered kingdom. But Evadine is no longer the woman Alwyn knew. Increasingly, Puritan rage replaces kindly faith, and Alwyn begins to question her true motives.
The final, decisive battle is about to take place and Alwyn's conscience is in a battle with his heart. Now he's going to have to really decide where he stands.
They wrote about the book:
Traitor concludes the Covenant of Steel trilogy in a very satisfying way. An extremely brutal medieval fantasy story told by one of the genre's best characters - Alwyn the Scribe. Grim storytelling, a dark world and interesting characters filling every corner of it - this is Anthony Ryan's best work yet.

Published the year before last, The Outcast was one of the most pleasant surprises in the field of contemporary epic fantasy. The sequel, called Martyr, raised great expectations - and it lived up to them. Unless Anthony Ryan chooses a weaker moment at the end of his trilogy, it is clear that we are dealing with his best series yet.
