The first story in a series of wine crime stories set in the enchanting wine region below Pálava, amidst vineyards, wine cellars and amongst the winemakers

Criminalist Captain Otakar Kuba has been investigating violent crimes for two decades. He is tired and considering retiring for a well-deserved rest. But before he makes a final decision, he wants to use his vacation to relax in his native wine country and, he hopes, away from the omnipresent crime. But even the land of song and wine is not spared from violence and crime. During a visit to the wine cellar of Vojta's old friend, an unknown, mysterious and beautiful girl introduces herself as Lucie. He flirts lightly with the men, drinks a few glasses of tram and disappears into the night. Soon afterwards, however, she is found dead near the cellar.

As the merry-go-round of investigations gets underway and Captain Cuba's vacation turns into a routine, there are a lot of questions that need to be answered. Who is the beautiful girl that no one in the village knows? Where did she come from and why? And who killed her and for what reason?
