VAT 2024 - interpretation with examples
The interpretation of all provisions of the VAT Act is supplemented by numerous practical examples that serve to explain the issue. The publication will be useful to everyone who encounters VAT in their work and needs to understand this issue.
In relation to changes from 2024, the publication contains an explanation of the changes to the VAT Act that occurred through the Construction Act, the Insolvency Act, and the Energy Act. It also responds to the amendment to the VAT Act No. 349/2023 Coll. (so-called consolidation package), which mainly included changes to tax rates and related changes, e. g. in construction work, catering services, public ground transportation of people and others.
The publication also includes an explanation of the newly introduced tax exemption with the right to deduct tax on the supply of books and the lending of books.
The examples and text explain the impacts of limiting the tax deduction for a selected passenger car, which is a long-term asset of the payer, which is also a change brought about by the consolidation package.
The VAT Act now imposes an obligation to keep records of cross-border payments. The publication specifies which payers this issue concerns and what obligations arise from this.
