Jiřina Jirásková portrays four women who were once close to the famous opera singer Emma Destinn. A disgraced music teacher, a cleaning lady, a paid companion and a maid represent the full range of disgusting human characteristics. And yet, against the backdrop of all this mundanity, Bad guys, envy, hypocrisy, meanness, of gossip, of thievery and betrayal, that surrounded Destinn, grows in size, the human uniqueness and vulnerability of this great artist.
