We edit digital photos
If you've decided to actively take pictures with a digital camera and have taken your first steps in operating it, you'll have noticed that working with it is very similar to working with a computer. Some of the controls are completely, others only partially, taken from computer terminology. As many of you know, this is not an arbitrary decision by the designers and manufacturers of these devices. Digital photography is, in the true sense of the word, digital photography and could not exist without a personal computer. Fortunately, today it is no longer necessary to be a computer expert, to know the types of interfaces and line commands in DOS to work with digital photography. If you want, you can print your photos directly from the camera by simply connecting it to the printer. On the other hand, it is the personal computer that gives digital photography much of its charm and appeal. The lens, aperture, shutter and the medium on which the latent image is captured have been around for a long time. Only computer processing of images is an adventure, thanks to which you can get acquainted with photographic procedures that have remained hidden from you until this moment - retouching, colour correction or even adjusting brightness values. The book Editing Digital Photographs - Tips and Techniques for Editing on the Computer aims to guide you through the initial pitfalls of working with photo editors designed to make working with images fun, not a necessary ordeal. The functions described in general are practically applied in Photoshop, as it contains the tools needed for photo editing and also offers the widest application variability. At the same time, however, I realize that not everyone wants to wade through the app's comprehensive offerings or become a recognized expert in image editing. For these readers, there is a section in which the applied functions are demonstrated using software that is not so complicated to master and is also easily accessible. -Microsoft Photo Editor is part of Microsoft Office, so if you work with this office suite, you have a fairly powerful tool for basic photo editing. -Imager Enhanceris an app that you can get for free, and therefore will have the appropriate charm for many of you. Apart from this undeniable advantage, its options and especially the arrangement of the dialogs make it a good way to get a glimpse into the photo-editing kitchen. If you're asking yourself a legitimate question as to why editing is demonstrated on these applications in addition to Photoshop, in the case of Photo Editor, I think it's answered in the preceding lines. Imager Enhancer is freeware, and a number of similar editors for bitmap images are currently available for free. Imager Enhancer has one undeniable advantage. This is a product from neighbouring Slovakia and thanks to that you have a very good Czech language version. At the same time, it is not a big application and you can download it from the Internet in a few seconds or minutes. Imager Enhancer is available at http://escsoftware.host.sk/enhancer.
