Audiobooks Weber's Romantic Journey
Karl Maria von Weber set off with his lover, the singer S. Brandt on a journey from Bavaria to Prague, where he wanted to try his luck. When they crossed the Šumava border, they lost their way in the deep forests.
They wandered long through the late evening, helpless and frightened by the reminders of the robber tales of these woods. It wasn't until a random wild hunter led them to a remote pub. But the environment they're in! Above the entrance, a plaque with a mule's foot, a tombstone outside the door with a bloodstain on it, inside, the unpleasant innkeeper, the ugly hostess and the guests around the table, who looked so horrible, that Weber and his mistress were convinced that they were in the worst robber's den! They preferred to go to their rooms, but even there they found no peace.
In the most horrible fears and with the most terrible imaginings Weber woke all night by the side of his Silvana. Every rustle outside, every creak of the door and stairs, the slightest sound, caused him a new terror. In the morning they had a quick breakfast and hurried away from the robber's nest. But no sooner had they entered the woods than they were ambushed by a band of robbers, the same ones they had met in the tavern the night before. Will they be delivered? Who will rescue them from the clutches of these terrible people?
