You're not supposed to lie

When wildlife begins to die in an area south of Tucson for unknown reasons, a young activist from a local university sets out alone into the mountains to find out more. She is found dead and the Tucson police are in no hurry to investigate the case. But a mobile investigative unit led by reclusive FBI agent Matt Costa and quirky police officer Kara Quinn responds immediately.

The investigators arrive in the city undercover and infiltrate a copper refinery to obtain new leads. The evidence they find there leads them to the inhospitable Arizona desert…

Costa and Quinn comb a decimated landscape that never ceases to bear witness to crimes far more serious than they first appeared – the white meat trade and other unsolved murders.

As the number of victims grows, they realise that there is much more to this case than they thought. But there is no turning back, the clock is ticking and the agents must uncover the mastermind of the murderous rampage before more innocent lives are lost… or themselves.
