After three years, Microsoft is coming up with a new redesigned version of its server operating system. The latest version is based on the 2016 version and its biggest advantages are the usability in the Azure hybrid platform as well as improvements to the platform for modern applications and hyperconverged infrastructure. The security of the entire operating system has been raised to a higher level, and the creation of native cloud applications and the modernization of traditional applications with the use of containers and micro-services are also planned.
In the 2016 version, the technology of protected virtual devices was introduced, which is now further improved in the 2019 version. New virtual device working with Linux. The feature of a protected virtual device is, of course, complemented by increased access control for administrators. VMConnect now better eliminates bugs on both systems, and you can protect your entire network with encryption with a single click between servers. Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) provides proactive protection, detects attacks, and potentially vulnerabilities. The technology allows the use of server response and overall significantly strengthens security.
Hybrid use is fully ready to work with Linux. Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) offers you easy transfer of its scripts to Windows, and OpenSSH, Curl and Tar industry standards are also supported. Windows Server 2019 is also able to take advantage of working with Kubernetes cluster components, for which it has also been improved. The hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) is also remembered, which with the new version of the 2019 operating system provides far wider scalability options than the previous version. Last but not least, it is significantly more reliable and powerful.
