The Mikrotik hAP ac³ WiFi router is a powerful dual-band WiFi 5 device, suitable for demanding home and corporate networks. The dual-band router operates simultaneously in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands and provides a total transmission speed of up to 1,167Mbps. Performance and Dual-Band WiFi
The router operates simultaneously in two bands and uses the WiFi 5 standard. For older devices and general web browsing, it uses the 2.4GHz band with a speed of 300Mbps, while the 5GHz band, with speeds up to 867Mbps, is used for high-definition video streaming. Stable data transfer in both bands is supported by 2×2 MIMO technology. Computing power is provided by a 4-core ARM IPQ-4019 processor with a variable frequency of 448–896MHz and 256MB of RAM, which can handle even demanding network operations.
Management and Modes
The device runs on the RouterOS operating system with a Level 4 license, which provides advanced configuration options via a web interface, mobile app, or the WinBox tool. The system supports several operating modes. In addition to the standard router function, it can be set up as an Access Point to extend an existing network, as a client to connect to another WiFi network, or as a Media Bridge. This flexibility allows you to adapt its function to the specific needs of your home or corporate network.
Network Security and Parental Controls
To protect your wireless network, it offers WEP 128-bit, WPA, and WPA2 encryption standards. An integrated stateful firewall provides detailed filtering of network traffic and protects the internal network from unauthorised external access. The RouterOS operating system also includes parental control features to restrict access to inappropriate content and create time-based rules. IP address management is facilitated by a DHCP server, and it also supports UPnP protocols.
WiFi Router Connectivity Options
For wired connections, there are five gigabit Ethernet ports, which can be flexibly configured as one WAN and four LAN ports. Functionality is extended by a USB Type-A port, to which you can connect an external drive or a 3G/4G modem. Power is supplied either via the standard DC connector (12–28V) or passive PoE IN (18–28V) on the first port. In addition, the Ether5 port offers passive PoE OUT to power another device, such as an IP camera or another access point, directly from the router.
