New Super Mario Bros. 2 - Nintendo 3DS

New Super Mario Bros. 2 is the logical sequel to the series with the merry repairman Mario - a classic two-dimensional game, set in the Mushroom kingdom. It is a typical old school platform style game with everyone's favourite plumber in the lead role.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 is an indirect sequel to Nintendo DS's first instalment, and as a true successor, this game also brings a whole host of new features. The game records all the coins players collect throughout the game, so completing a level is only part of the fun. Every level is filled with golden opportunities, such as gold rings that turn enemies into valuable gold versions and a Gold Flower that gives Mario the ability to turn almost anything in his path into coins.

Levels:
Gold coins can be obtained everywhere in the levels. Some opportunities cannot be missed, and others must be challenged with a little skill. With that in mind, the levels are full of enemies, shortcuts, opportunities for jumps and power-ups. In addition, coin Rush mode is made accessible after the player completes the first world. The emphasis on hard-core gameplay is felt in every part.

Power-Ups:
New Super Mario Bros. 2 contains a whole host of new Power-Ups. In some levels, you come across gold-plated enemies, and in others you become golden ones. You may come across a power-up in the form of a golden flower that, when Mario catches, becomes gold! Golden Mario then spins the golden fireball, which turns everything into a gold coin. With another power-up, Mario's head turns into a brick box, and when he starts running, it leaves behind a long trace of gold coins. A raccoon coat is also available to let you climb into the clouds. With this, you can get to the platforms high in the clouds or to the top of the rocks, where other bonuses are waiting for you.

Multiplayer:
In addition to the classic multiplayer, Mario also features a cooperative multiplayer for two players who play on two separate Nintendo 3DS consoles. One then plays as Mario and the other as Luigi. Together they go through the levels, and it's up to each player to help each other or alternatively try to get a higher score than their opponent.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 shows the same love for detail as other Nintendo games.

Stereoscopic 3D effect in this game does not cause the game world to protrude from the screen. In this title, the screen is a window into the Mushroom kingdom through which you can see in depth. In addition, there are several interesting features. For example, when you adjust the depth of a 3D effect, the background not only moves away, but it also becomes increasingly blurry.

StreetPass:
New Super Mario Bros. 2 also supports StreetPass. However, you will not send power-ups like in the Super Mario 3D Land, but your records. In order to reinforce your efforts, find as many coins as possible in each level. You will receive from each player you meet, the data on their records and how many coins to collect at what level. For example, you may find that some coins are still at the level you think should be empty.
