Olympus LS-P4

A professional voice recorder and dictaphone designed especially for musicians and filmmakers. The P4 model from the LS range made by the renowned audio-visual electronics manufacturer Olympus is one of the world's first linear PCM recorders. It is ideal for recording high-quality 24-bit FLAC audio. The FLAC format delivers higher audio quality than standard CD or MP3 formats. But that's not all.  The LS-P4 is capable of compressing its recordings to 70% of their normal size, which saves plenty of storage space. The recorder is armed with a pair of stereo microphones and one special for recording bass tones. You can also attach the dictaphone to the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II camera to get perfect sound to your 4K videos.

Designed for easy work

The recorder has a compact metal body, which gives it an elegant appearance and increases the overall durability. With a height of just over 10cm and a thickness of no more than 1.5cm, you can always fit the recorder into your pocket. When it comes to controls, you have classic directional controls with several extra buttons and a 1.43" display to work with. Thanks to its powerful integrated battery, the LS-P4 can record up to 39 hours of audio. The device can compress the recording to save space, but if the internal 8GB of memory just isn’t enough, you can also use the microSD slot that supports cards up to 32GB in size. The recorder includes a headphone output, so it can be used as a portable player for your favourite music (FLAC, WAV and MP3).

Olympus LS-P4 offers special music features

The LS-P4 is one of the first recorders to have a built-in fade-in/fade-out function. It automatically and smoothly increases the recording volume at the beginning and at the end of the song. This feature helps to connect live tracks more naturally and eliminate unpleasant effects from transitions. The overdubbing feature is also excellent, as it allows you to record other sounds onto the same track while listening to a recording. To give an example, you have a track with nothing but drums, so you can insert extra vocals, rhythm guitar, or anything else to make a full-fledged music track from it.
