Lucky Reptile Tortoise Bedding 20 l
The Lucky Reptile terrarium substrate is suitable for tortoises. Tortoises often burrow into the substrate to take advantage of the microclimate close to their bodies. A proper microclimate is important for the healthy growth and development of tortoises. Not every substrate can accurately replicate natural conditions. Fill the terrarium with a layer of at least 10cm. Tortoises should always be able to burrow completely into the substrate. If necessary, keep the substrate slightly moist by spraying it with water regularly. It is recommended to create areas of varying substrate moisture in the terrarium. Regularly remove droppings and leftover food. Depending on the size of the terrarium and the number of tortoises kept, the substrate should be completely replaced every 4 to 6 weeks. When changing the substrate, we recommend cleaning the terrarium with Lucky Reptile Biodor Terra. The substrate is not suitable for use with under-floor heating, such as heating cables and heat mats. Furthermore, this type of heating should not be used at all when keeping tortoises.
