The SAPPHIRE A520M-E motherboard provides a reliable foundation for PC builds based on the AMD AM4 platform. Its mATX format, measuring 230 × 197mm, makes it ideal for building compact PCs in smaller cases. The AMD A520 mATX board supports AMD Ryzen 5000, 4000, and 3000 series processors, covering a wide spectrum of computing power for both office work and home multimedia use. For system memory, it offers two slots for DDR4 modules with dual-channel support. Connectivity includes essential ports, such as USB 3.2 Gen 1, a gigabit network card, and an M.2 slot for fast SSD storage. As a motherboard for Ryzen 5000, it provides a stable and functional environment.
The processor is powered by a 4+2+1 phase power delivery system that efficiently distributes energy between the cores and other parts of the CPU. Each power phase, featuring titanium chokes, delivers up to 50A and manages a clean and stable power supply. The power design supports consistent processor performance even under heavy load. The entire system is powered by a combination of a standard 24-pin ATX and an additional 8-pin EPS connector, which supplies plenty of power directly for the needs of the installed Ryzen processor.
The motherboard offers two slots for DDR4 memory modules. In dual-channel mode, it supports a total capacity of up to 64GB (2× 32GB), providing sufficient resources for the smooth running of your operating system and applications. For fast system boot-ups and program loading, it features one M.2 slot with a PCIe 3.0 interface, designed for modern NVMe SSDs. To further expand your storage space, it offers four SATA III ports with a transfer speed of 6Gb/s for connecting traditional hard drives or 2.5" SSDs.
For installing a graphics card, there is one PCIe 3.0 x16 slot. You can install another expansion card, such as a sound, network, or capture card, in the PCIe 3.0 x1 slot. The rear panel contains a total of six USB ports, including four high-speed USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports for modern peripherals and two USB 2.0 ports. Internal headers on the board let you add another four USB ports to the front panel of your case. There is also a combined PS/2 port for connecting older keyboards or mice.
When using a processor with an integrated graphics core (APU), the motherboard provides HDMI 1.4 and VGA (D-Sub) video outputs for connecting monitors. For network connection, it includes a gigabit Ethernet port managed by the Realtek RTL8111M chip. The audio output is handled by the Realtek ALC897 chip, which supports 5.1-channel HD audio. System status diagnostics during startup are made easier by a set of four indicator LEDs (CPU, DRAM, GPU, Boot), which help to quickly identify any potential hardware problems.
