The Seagate Exos X14 12TB Standard SAS hard disk belongs among the high load internal HDDs for the NAS storage solution environment. 3.5" HDDs are designed chiefly for desktop computers and data centres. One of the key parameters is obviously the rotational speed of the HDD. 7200 RPM ensures better speeds when working with multimedia and data. The total capacity of the hard drive is 12000 GB. The device has a 256 MB memory cache. You can connect it to a PC or other devices via the SAS interface.

Standard HDDs are notable for their construction. Inside the drive there is a mechanism with moving platters accompanied by disk read/write heads. These moving parts are not particularly resistant against shock or impact, but this weak point is well-compensated by an excellent price/storage capacity ratio. The important criterion that determines the speed of a HDD is the number of platter revolutions per minute, generally known as RPM. With the Seagate Exos X14 12TB Standard SAS, you get 7200 RPM revolutions per minute. This is ideal for demanding users, such as graphic or video editors - in short, people who work with large amounts of data. Data transmission and stability is also influenced the embedded buffer memory known as cache. The Seagate platter drive is equipped with a 256 MB cache that keeps the last written data for their prompt retrieval and reading.
