The Seagate SkyHawk 3TB hard disk belongs among the high load internal HDDs for monitoring systems with non-stop operation. 3.5" HDDs are designed mainly for data centres and desktop PCs. One of the crucial parameters is obviously the rotational frequency (RPM). 5400 RPM should satisfy most ordinary PC users. You can look forward to a total data capacity of 3000 GB. The device has a 256 MB memory cache. You can connect it to a PC or other devices using the SATA III interface.

The HDD boasts a unique design. Inside the drive there is a mechanism that uses moving platters accompanied by disk read and write heads. These mechanical parts don't take shocks and impact well, but at the same time you get an excellent price/storage capacity ratio. The crucial criterion that determines the speed of a hard drive is the number of rotations per minute (RPM). In case of the Seagate SkyHawk 3TB, you can look forward to 5400 RPM RPM.
