The Seagate SkyHawk AI 10TB hard disk belongs among the high load internal HDDs for 24/7 monitoring systems, e.g. security cameras. The 3.5" format is designed primarily for desktop PCs and data centres. One of the most important characteristics is obviously the rotational speed. 7200 RPM delivers improved performance and data speeds. The hard disk provides a storage capacity of 10000 GB. The storage features a 256 MB memory cache. All the data communication takes place using the SATA III interface.

Platter hard disks have a notably special construction. The enclosure conceals a mechanism with moving platters, complete with hard disk heads that read and write the data. These mechanical parts don't take shocks and impact well, but at the same time you get an excellent price/storage capacity ratio. The crucial criterion that affects the speed of a platter hard disk is RPM - the number of revolutions per minute. With the Seagate SkyHawk AI 10TB, you can look forward to 7200 RPM RPM. This is welcome news for people with higher requirements, such as graphic designers, gamers, video editors, and people who tend to use large amounts of data. File access speed and stability is also affected by the disk buffer, usually called cache. The Seagate HDD features a 256 MB cache that stores the last used data for their fast retrieval and reading.

In order to mount the Seagate SkyHawk AI 10TB in the device of your choice, it requires a 3,5" slot. All communication with the computer is done via the SATA III interface with a standard speed of 6 Gbit/s.
