The Sigma ceramic protective filter boasts a durable construction and is designed to protect the camera lens from bumps, scratches and other damage. This filter gives you high light transmissions - up to 99.76%. The actual glass is much harder than chemically strengthened glass and more flexible than sapphire, thus it is able to withstand various pitfalls when photographing and protect your investment. The glass surface has WR (water - repellent) protection that repels water, dust and various particles and prevents fingerprints. This makes the ceramic filter able to withstand the harshest conditions, which could otherwise cause damage to the front lens element.
