Benefits of the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS
Unleash your creativity
The stunning bokeh effect of the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS is achieved by the advanced XA optical element with surface precision to 0.01 microns and a circular 11-blade aperture. These elements contribute to previously unattainable resolution and smooth transitions that give your photos new expressive possibilities.
Natural image without distracting colours
The Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS is equipped with four ED glass elements and two Super ED elements to effectively suppress chromatic aberration and offer maximum resolution and natural colours at any focal length. Colour bleeding is also suppressed so that objects are captured with maximum sharpness and detail.
Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS captures close-ups
The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 0.96m at up to 0.25x magnification, ideal for portraits or macro shots. The Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS lens uses a floating focusing mechanism to minimise distortion and aberration, resulting in clear, distortion-free images every time.
Fast and accurate autofocus
The Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS lens is equipped with separate motors that quickly and precisely position the two groups of focusing elements. A powerful circular ultrasonic motor is in charge of the front group of elements and a double linear motor controls the rear group. Thanks to the high-precision positioning, autofocusing with maximum speed is possible.

Sony Corporation is a Japanese company founded in 1946. Its headquarters is located in Tokyo. Its beginnings were humble. The first product sold under the Sony brand was a transistor radio. It was those radios that played a pivotal role in the company's expansion in the 1960s and the world quickly began to associate Sony products with a reliably stellar price-performance ratio.
In the 1970s, Sony was severely affected by the global economic crisis. Many analysts considered the company effectively defunct and could see no future for it. However, they underestimated the famous Japanese perseverance and courage. The crisis was not a disaster for Sony; on the contrary, it served as a launching pad to even greater heights. The company recovered and soon changed the media landscape with the development of the CD and later the DVD. In the early 1990s, Sony achieved another major success with the introduction of the PlayStation gaming console. It is the gaming consoles that best represent the intersection of the three key areas in which the company operates today – electronics, video games, and the entertainment industry.
