Even if it does not seem like that, vinyl is still very popular. At CES 2016, Sony pulled out its first turntable that manages to digitise the vinyl in High-Resolution.
The Sony Hi-Res PS-HX500 turntable can be connected to a computer via a USB port, play a vinyl and convert audio to digital files using a native A/D converter. You can then copy and modify them in different ways - depending on your requirements.
The DSD file format reproduces even the finest sound nuances. Thanks to this fineness, it is ideal for storing and re-playing the vinyls. The free Hi-Res Audio Recorder application will help you to handle the recordings.
The PS-HX500 turntable has an aluminium, pressure-cast swivel disc that is powered by a belt and a two-speed engine. It has a ball head that minimises the resonance. Thanks to the used technology you can enjoy the soft and warm tones of your favourite vinyls.
