In 2014 Sony unveiled the FS7 camcorder, which quickly became one of the most popular cameras in the camera production industry. Sony is now expanding its FS camera series with the introduction of its advanced FS7 II model. While the original FS7 model still remains on the menu, the FS7 II builds upon the proven FS7 platform and adds the latest, cutting edge technology from Sony, including an electronic, linear variable ND optical filter and robust E-Mount Lens.
Extensive improvements to the adaptive viewfinder system and manual mechanism SmartGrip ensure a quick and safe positioning on the fly; all while maintaining Zen simplicity, flexibility and convenient service through the award-winning FS7 industrial design.

E-mount with Lever Lock
The new mounting system by Sony securely locks the E-mount to the camera and allows the use of larger and heavier lenses without the need for additional support.
This breakthrough is based on a smart combination of advanced scientific material and sophisticated technology. The toggle snapping system securely holds the E-mount adapter to the camera body.
Linear Variable ND Filter
Sony's new and unique, linear variable ND, built-in optical filter technology was first introduced in the FS5 model and provides filmmakers of action shots an entirely new way to configure the exposure while shooting with the greatest of ease.
The Variable ND filter aperture is ideal for work and exposure control.
Effective and Adaptable System Viewfinder
For a cameraman, the viewfinder is the most important part of the camera. It is used for the composition of each recording. The viewfinder's eyepiece also provides a place to stabilize the camera during handheld shooting.
New and more powerful FS7 II viewfinder support allows for quick and fine-tuning of its position. The original lever clamping system for the FS7 has been replaced by a double grip with discrete terminal lugs.
