SparkFun Block for Intel Edison - Battery

Sparkfun Block is an extension for the Edison electronic kit from Intel, the No. 1 producer of desktop processors. It is an ultra-small computer platform that caters to entertaining technological experiments as well as real design work. The Intel Edison Breakout Board Kit is powered by an Intel Atom dual-core processor with integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth interface, 1 GB RAM, 4 GB SSD storage, all built on a 3.5 x 2.5cm unit.

Edison continues where Intel Arduino finished, so when you know how to design electronic circuits with Arduin, and its performance is no longer sufficient for you, go further - Intel Edison is waiting for you.

The expansion module includes a Li-Pol charger and 400mAh battery to charge your Intel Edison kit and other expansion modules. The battery board can be used with an external battery to increase runtime of your Edison which can be plugged in with a micro USB cable to deliver a 500mA power supply. In addition, the power switch removes the battery from Edison while allowing it to charge via a micro USB cable.

If you need more battery life, it is also possible to gently remove and replace the battery with a larger battery cell. Get started wirelessly with Intel Edison!
