Luminous flux
This is given in Lumens (lm), and the higher the value, the more intensely the head torch shines. Some LED head torches offer multiple levels of light intensity, adjustable either in steps or continuously. However, a higher luminous flux shortens the battery life.Up to 100lm – head torch for home use (lighting in the cellar, loft, or when repairing a car).
100–400lm – outdoor use (night running, cycling, camping).
Over 400lm – extreme professions and sports (rescuers, mountaineers).
