File Station is a fast and safe tool for sharing and managing the files stored on your DS416play. Upload data from your Mac or PC simply by dragging. Advanced filters allow for easy retrieval of documents, photos or videos. Built-in FTP or the DS416play e-mail client allows you to easily sort and share files using advanced Web applications. Files and folders can be shared with others by simply sending a link. The files are available on mobile devices which use the DS file mobile companion app. HTTPS, SSL/TLS encryption and an expiration date reference will then ensure that file sharing over the Internet is completely secure.

Files available whenever through cloud service
The DS416play brings you a complete cloud service. The Cloud Station allows you to synchronize files between DiskStation and a number of other devices including Windows PCs, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android and also Windows mobile devices. Two-way synchronization allows for synchronization between different DiskStation devices. Your DiskStation can synchronize files with Google Drive, onedrive, Dropbox, Box, nozzle and Baidu Cloud - create your own hybrid cloud for flexible storage and data loss prevention.

Enjoy easy file sharing across Windows, Mac and Linux, for which DS416play offers comprehensive support network protocols, including FTP, SMB2, AFP, NFS and WebDAV. With the integration of Windows AD and LDAP, DS416play can be easily integrated into any existing network environment. Because of the trash function, which is supported in the AFP, CIFS, File Station and WebDAV, you don't have to worry about loosing files. Files which are deleted from a shared folder are automatically moved to the Recycle Bin.
