A design without any hard drives doesn't mean it throws functionality out the window. Even though there is no cooling fan, it can withstand a wider range of operating temperatures. EDS14 has great tolerance for input voltage (DC 7-24 V), which makes it compatible with many different energy sources. So it will even work in your car!
