Tascam SD-20M

The simple Tascam SD-20M solid-state recorder impresses not only with its affordable price. It is 1U rack-mountable and features XLR/TRS combo inputs with phantom power for condenser microphones. Two more cinch inputs are available. You can use both the cinch and microphone line inputs simultaneously for up to four tracks of recording. Dual recording mode captures a copy of your audio at a lower level as insurance against distortion. The Tascam SD-20M includes a battery backup system. Thanks to the four AA batteries, you can record even if the mains power goes out.

Support for studio line inputs and phantom power

Two XLR/TRS combo inputs on the front are suitable for +4 dBu balanced line input from mixers and other devices. They also support condenser microphones that require phantom power (48 volts). These functions allow a wide range of settings. The locking mechanism also prevents accidental disconnection of cables. RCA unbalanced inputs on the rear support -10 dBV line input from mixers and other devices. Together with the combined XLR/TRS connectors, a variety of devices can be connected.

Tascam SD-20M can create dual recording

The dual recording function allows you to simultaneously record a file at a lower volume than the main recording. If the main recording becomes distorted due to sudden loud sounds, you can use a background file recorded at a lower volume. (When the dual recording function is activated, only two inputs can be used for recording. )
