The TP-Link EAP650-Desktop WiFi Access Point brings Omada WiFi 6 standard wireless connectivity to both business and home environments. The device operates in dual-band and achieves a combined transfer speed of up to 2976Mbps. Its design allows for flexible deployment on a desk or wall, with power supplied by either the included DC adapter or PoE. Four gigabit ethernet ports extend connectivity to wired devices, and one of them also supports PoE output. Centralised management within the Omada ecosystem simplifies network configuration and monitoring, making it ideal for scalable deployments.
You can manage the device in several ways. For standalone operation, use the intuitive web interface or the Omada mobile app. For larger networks, the access point integrates into the Omada Software Defined Networking platform, which enables centralised management of multiple network elements from a single location. It supports hardware, software, and cloud controllers, as well as Zero-Touch Provisioning for remote configuration. Deployment flexibility is enhanced by desk or wall installation options and dual power via PoE or the included 12V DC adapter. The integrated Omada Mesh technology creates an extensive and unified wireless network with a single name.
The access point uses the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standard, which delivers higher efficiency and data throughput. It reaches speeds of up to 2402Mbps in the 5GHz band and up to 574Mbps in the 2.4GHz band. For smooth operation in high-density client environments, it uses OFDMA and 2×2 MU-MIMO technologies. These optimise data transfers for multiple devices simultaneously and reduce latency. Support for the HE160 channel width in the 5GHz band further boosts performance for compatible devices. Beamforming technology, in conjunction with five internal antennas, improves signal directionality.
The device provides a wide range of connectivity options. In addition to wireless connectivity, it offers four gigabit ethernet ports for wired devices. One of the ports also supports PoE Out to power another device, such as an IP camera. To activate this feature, the access point must be powered by the 802.3at or 802.3bt standard. The device covers an area of up to 140m² and serves over 250 connected clients.
