If you need to store a modest amount of data, a flash disk will do just fine. An external disk, however, has much more space available than a flash disk, even though it's not much heavier. The drive WD 2.5" Elements SE 2TB black is a HDD. An HDD is the normal platter disk. Its main advantage is its low purchase price.

What External Hard Disk Capacity Should You Get?

HDDs come in a wide variety of sizes. 500GB is considered to be the "basic" HDD capacity, although even 2TB is not as absurdly large as it may seem.
