WD Red 10TB
The WD Red 10TB hard drive ranks among the high load internal HDDs for 24/7 operation in data centres. 3.5" HDDs are designed primarily for desktop PCs and data centres. One of the main characteristics is obviously the rotational speed. The 5400 RPM RPM should satisfy most ordinary PC users. The total capacity of the hard drive is 10000 GB. The storage uses a 256 MB memory cache. All the data communication between the Western Digital hard drive and other hardware is takes place via the SATA III interface.

Other HDD Features
Platter hard disks have a notably special construction. Inside the enclosure there is a mechanism with moving platters, complete with hard disk heads that read and write the data. File access speed and overall stability is also influenced by the disk buffer, usually called cache. The Western Digital hard drive features a 256 MB cache that keeps the last written data for their fast retrieval and reading.
Connecting the Western Digital Hard Drive
If you want to mount the WD Red 10TB in your computer or other device, it must be equipped with a 3.5" slot. The communication between the HDD and PC happens via the SATA III interface with a standard speed of 6 Gbit/s. The technology is one of the most popular HDD data transfer options available and delivers a speed of 600 MB/s.
