The WD Red 14TB hard drive ranks among the high load internal HDDs for 24/7 operation in data centres. 3.5" HDDs are designed chiefly for data centres and desktop PCs. One of the main parameters is undoubtedly the rotational speed (RPM). The 5400 RPM RPM should satisfy the demands of most ordinary PC users. The hard disk provides a storage capacity of 14000 GB. The device has a 512 MB memory cache. All the data communication between the Western Digital hard drive and the PC or other devices is facilitated using the SATA III interface.

Other Hard Drive Features
The HDD boasts a unique design. The enclosure conceals a mechanism that utilises moving platters, complete with disk read and write heads. These mechanical parts are admittedly more sensitive to shocks, but on the upside, this design also delivers an affordable price tag and high storage capacity. The important parameter that determines the speed of a HDD is RPM - the number of revolutions per minute. With the WD Red 14TB, we have 5400 RPM RPM. These drives are generally used in ordinary home computers and other devices that do not require high performance. System responsivity and stability is also significantly affected by the disk buffer - the so-called cache. The Western Digital HDD features a 512 MB cache that stores the last data inputs for their speedy reading.
Connecting the Western Digital Hard Drive
In order to mount the WD Red 14TB in the device of your choice, it must be equipped with a 3.5" slot. Data transfer takes place through the SATA III interface with a speed of 3 Gbit/s. This technology is one of the most popular HDD data transfer options available and delivers a speed of 600 MB/s.
