WD Red Plus 6TB

The WD Red Plus 6TB hard drive is one of the high load internal HDDs for NAS systems. 3.5" HDDs are designed mainly for desktop computers and data centres. You can look forward to a total data capacity of 6000 GB. The device features a 128 MB memory cache. All the data communication between the Western Digital hard drive and a computer or other device takes place using the SATA III interface.

Other Hard Drive Features

Platter hard disks have a notably special construction. Inside the enclosure there is a mechanism with moving platters, complete with hard disk heads that read and write the data. These mechanical parts don't take shocks and impact well, but at the same time you get an excellent price/storage capacity ratio. The important criterion that affects the speed of a platter hard disk is the number of revolutions per minute (RPM). With the WD Red Plus 6TB, we have 5640 RPM revolutions per minute. File access speed and overall stability is also influenced by the disk buffer - the so-called cache. The Western Digital platter drive features a 128 MB cache that stores the last data inputs for their speedy reading.

Connecting the Western Digital HDD

If you want to install the WD Red Plus 6TB in your PC or other device, you need a 3.5" slot. Data transfer happens through the SATA III interface, boasting a standard speed of 6 Gbit/s. This technology is one of the most popular HDD data transfer solutions available and delivers a throughput of 600 MB/s.

Dobry den, chcel by som si kupit tento 12TB disk do svojho NAS serveru, bude fungovat v mojon NAS Qnap TS-228? Pretoze na oficialnej stranke v liste kompatibility nieje, ale vseobecne tento nas Qnap TS-228 podporuje velmi vela 12 TB diskov, ci uz od WD, alebo od Seageat. Dakujem za odpoved.
