ALPINESTARS SMX AIRS, black/fluo red, 2024, size 2XL

The Alpinestars SMX AIR men's textile motorcycle jacket in size XXL is designed for sports riding in the summer months. It combines a technically advanced mesh for high breathability with abrasion-resistant 450D polyester fabric. The cut is optimised for freedom of movement and the jacket is also compatible with TECH-AIR®5 airbag vests. It includes certified protectors and a removable windproof liner.

Construction and materials

The SMX AIR jacket uses a multi-material construction. The base is a technically advanced mesh on the torso, inner sleeves and back, which ensures airflow. Strong, abrasion-resistant 450D polyester fabric is used on the outer parts of the sleeves and to reinforce the torso and shoulders. Airflow is further enhanced by perforations in the chest area. Polyamide stretch panels on the back, shoulders and sides contribute to an adaptive fit and unrestricted freedom of movement.

Protection and safety

The jacket's safety features include CE-certified, removable NUCLEON FLEX PLUS elbow and shoulder protectors (Level 1). The viscoelastic protectors are complemented by external Alpinestars DFS lite plastic shoulder protectors, which increase protection during a slide. The jacket is prepared for the insertion of NUCLEON series back protectors (Level 1 and 2), which can be purchased as an optional accessory. The jacket is fully compatible with TECH-AIR®5 airbag vests, significantly increasing the level of rider protection.

Comfort and practical features

The cut of the jacket is optimised for a sporty riding position with pre-curved sleeves. The low-profile collar with a microfibre inner lining enhances comfort. You can easily adjust the waist and sleeve cuffs using the Velcro straps. For storing personal belongings, there are two outer front pockets and an inner waterproof pocket for documents, a phone or a wallet. A removable windproof liner is also included, which adapts the jacket for cooler weather.
