In principle, this hardware is just a battery reservoir that provides power for all appliances needing electricity. The APC Back-UPS BX 1200VA (FR) UPS uses the Line interactive design approach. Off-line is the most basic form if the electricity is interrupted, since it switches to the internal battery for electric power. The line interactive UPS also adds data line surge suppression to guard against dangerous surges travelling along data lines.
