The HomePod mini 2 acts as an Apple Home hub, letting you control compatible Apple Home Collection, HomeKit, and Matter accessories using your voice or the Home app, trigger scenes and automations, and monitor your home remotely. Integrated sensors track temperature and humidity, and Sound Recognition can alert you to smoke or carbon monoxide alarms.
Siri, multiple users, and privacy
Siri recognises the voices of up to six household members to deliver personalised requests. Siri AI is scheduled to arrive in a future software update, with availability depending on supported languages and regions. Requests are processed directly on the device or secure Private Cloud Compute, ensuring Apple never gains access to your content.
