The Arctic P14 Pro PST Value Pack provides a comprehensive cooling solution, containing five fans engineered for performance in demanding conditions. Their design focuses on generating high static pressure, which efficiently pushes air through the dense fins of water-cooling radiators and dust filters. A wide speed range from 400 to 2500rpm, controlled by a PWM signal, adapts to the current load. Under low load, the fans switch to a silent 0rpm mode. Fluid dynamic bearings (FDB) support reliable and quiet operation by reducing friction and extending the operational lifespan.
Under low load, when the PWM signal drops to a low level, the fans stop spinning completely. This passive 0rpm mode maintains silence during light work. At higher speeds, a combination of several technologies ensures quiet operation. FDB fluid dynamic bearings reduce friction and vibrations thanks to a thin oil film that separates the moving parts. The extended bearing shaft also distributes pressure more effectively, further stabilising operation. An integrated microcontroller also contributes to low noise levels by actively reducing motor noise.
PST (PWM Sharing Technology) simplifies cable management and unifies speed control, which is particularly useful for motherboards with a limited number of connectors. Each fan has a 4-pin socket in addition to its 4-pin connector. This way, you can connect all five fans in series to form a single chain, which then connects to a single PWM header on the motherboard. All fans in the chain respond to the same control signal and operate in sync, resulting in uniform cooling performance across the entire case.
Each unit undergoes automated two-stage measurement and balancing, which applies balancing weights with high precision at two different depth levels. This process reduces manufacturing tolerances and vibrations that could occur at high speeds. Furthermore, an advanced SOTA microcontroller controls the motor, which not only reduces operational noise but also compensates for fluctuations in load and protects the electronics against current surges or reverse polarity.
The manufacturer designed the Arctic P14 Pro PST fans with an emphasis on balancing cooling performance and acoustic signature. The modified blade design, along with small gaps between them and the frame, increases airflow efficiency while limiting noise-generating turbulence. As a result, the fans can deliver high airflow and static pressure even at low speeds, where they remain almost inaudible. This approach is reflected in a smooth performance curve that offers effective cooling without sudden jumps in noise as the system load increases.
